This landscape was experienced during the heat dome last summer. It was still cool as we climbed this headland and the view of the sea stacks unfolded through the moss-covered trees. The marine layer had just lifted, lending an iridescent quality to the light, like rainbows everywhere. I remember being struck with how yellow the foliage was against the incredible ocean in myriad shades of blue.Brian Mahieu
